Copybara Clipboard Manager is a Chrome extension that saves text you copy and shows it in a sidebar with the page it came from.

What data Copybara stores

Copybara stores the following locally on your device so the extension can provide clipboard history:

  • Text you intentionally copy, cut, or save using the “Save to Copybara” right-click command
  • The page URL and site name associated with that saved text
  • Tags and favorites you add to saved items
  • Sidebar preferences, such as color scheme, font size, and whether capture is paused

Copybara only saves page information when it is associated with text you intentionally copy, cut, or save. It does not record the websites you visit or maintain a separate browsing history.

Copybara may read clipboard contents immediately following a copy or cut action so the copied text can be saved.

Copybara does not ask for or intentionally collect your name, email address, account credentials, payment information, or location.

How data is stored

All of this data is stored locally in Chrome using chrome.storage.local. It remains in your local Chrome profile and is not sent to Copybara or an external server.

Copybara does not use chrome.storage.sync, cookies, analytics, or a Copybara server.

How data is used

  • Saved text and the page it came from are shown in the sidebar so you can find and reuse what you copied.
  • Tags and favorites are used only to organize that list.
  • Preferences are used only to remember how you set up the sidebar.

Data is not used for advertising, profiling, or anything unrelated to this clipboard history feature.

The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Third-party services

Copybara does not use third-party analytics, ads, or authentication services.

Data sharing

Copybara does not sell your data and does not share it with third parties.

Uninstalling the extension removes its locally stored data.

Data retention and deletion

Data stays on your device until you delete individual saved items in the sidebar, clear extension data in Chrome, or uninstall Copybara.

If the saved list grows past 500 items, older items that are not favorites are removed.

Changes to this policy

If Copybara’s data practices change, this policy will be updated and the “Last updated” date will change.
